About meI am fluent in English and Portuguese after living in Australia for a year and in Brazil for more than 10 years. Besides translation, I have been working as a teacher of English for Brazilians and as a teacher of Portuguese for Dutch expatriates in Brazil, making me proficient with the grammar and make up of the Portuguese and English language, while at the same time keeping me in touch with my own native language (Dutch). I work from my own home and have a fast internet connection. Having an extensive network of contacts for consultation and support in a vast array of fields, I am enabled to do accurate and rapid cross-checking of completed work as an additional quality-control measure. ExperienceMy role as a freelance translator involved translating Portuguese into English, Portuguese into Dutch, English into Dutch, and Dutch into English for a variety of companies, such as Microsoft, BenQ Siemens, GS1 Brasil, Voith, ABN Amro, Gilette, Sony, among others. I’ve been involved with the translating of general operator & instruction manuals, equipment manuals, cell phone operating manuals, brochures, company reports, presentations, marketing, economics and finance subjects (commerce in general), information technology, software manuals, contracts, home pages, and some literature as well. This allowed me to build my translation skills not in one particular field but many, and accuracy and attention to detail were always paramount.
